Application Engineer - Chevron BASSC

Senior Full-time Puerto Madero - Capital Federal

Participates in the entire software development lifecycle, with a primary focus on evergreen support of existing software solutions requiring significant knowledge of enabled business domain, workflows and processes.

The Chevron Business Support Center (BASSC) located in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero), Argentina, is accepting online applications for the position P/SCM Application Engineer. This position is responsible for working in close partnership with Procurement/Supply Chain-PSCM Corporate groups, Business Units worldwide, and IT organizations. Successful candidates will join the Software Engineer team which is part of a successful multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 700 employees delivering business services and solutions across the globe.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the development, deployment, on-going adoption, and support of PSCM Technologies (GEP SMART) in alignment with associated PSCM business processes.

  • Business relationship management

  • Communications/change management

  • Technical analysis and support

  • Business unit engagement

  • Prioritization and deployment

  • This position also works closely with technical resources to support business enhancement/change requests, bug/fixes, and proposed technical solutions. 

  • ETL operation work and review data integrity.

  • Regresión and performance tests planning

  • SMART GEP deployment

 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to analyze business and work process information to develop creative solutions and make effective decisions

  • Ability to respond to business unit requests/questions, solve problems and provide quality recommendations

  • Effectively document business requirements, evaluate applicability, business case, and value.

  • Experience developing metrics, extracting data and tracking/analyzing results

  • Strong written and interpersonal communications skills

  • Passionate about learning new technologies and collaborating with others to deliver results.

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and frameworks(e.g. DevOps, Prototyping, Agile, etc.)

 

Preferred Qualifications (desirable):

  • Willing to gain understanding of Supply Chain Management/Procurement processes and functions

  • Ability to mentor and partner with Business Units and procurement team members on SCM processes and Procurement technologies tool usage 

  • Ability to improve process efficiency through leveraging leading practices, work process design, standardization, and use of eProcurement systems 

  • Skilled in use of P/SCM Technologies/Applications – GEP SMART, Fieldglass, Deem (Catalog Management), Amalto, READ/SIMS, etc.

  • Experience with JDE/SAP materials management and/or payable modules.

  • Experience deploying new technologies to business customers

  • Experience with creation and delivery of end user documentation/ and training

  • It will also involve working with Upstream PSCM Corporate Technologies. For which Upstream working experiences is a plus.
