Junior Tax Accountant - MetLife

Junior Full-time Retiro - Capital Federal

We are looking for a new Junior Tax Accountant to join the Global Tax Team of our Center of Excellence in Buenos Aires.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gather and organize heavy volume of USA Partnership Investor Tax Forms (1065s/K-1s)
  • Develop and maintain Tax subject matter expertise in relevant investment areas such as fixed maturity and equity securities, mortgages, real estate, joint ventures, and derivatives.
  • Perform ledger account balance reconciliations
  • Assist in financial data analysis, trending for month-end close, reporting and ad-hoc reports
  • Assist in the preparation of income tax provision and projections, ensure documentation is properly maintained.
  • Develop and understanding of nuances between Book and Tax accounting and reporting for assigned Investment areas and entities, present and explain in basic terms.
  • Utilize existing technology and contribute towards MetLife’s continuous improvement efforts to automate processes, increase efficiency, and provide quality solutions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required
  • Research and document tax issues, as requested.
  • Collaborate and communicate well remotely with our team members in the USA.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Proficiency in English, written and oral required.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.).
  •  Experience in Oracle tools, Alteryx (SQL) and/or Power BI is preferred.
  •  1 year of financial experience in a public or private company environment.
  • Completion of or progress towards CPA or MBA preferred.
  • General knowledge of GAAP/STAT accounting concepts, principles, and practices.
  • General knowledge of Tax accounting for financial products and willingness to learn USA tax treatment for fixed assets, real estate, derivatives, securities, and partnerships.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and make suggestions for improvements when problems and/or opportunities arise.
