The Finance Operations Enterprise Architect is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of an organization’s Finance Operations services. As an enterprise architect, you will be responsible for overseeing, improving, and upgrading the enterprise services, software, and hardware.

You will also need to stay on top of the latest trends and technologies and keep an eye out for any software, services, or hardware that might improve business processes.

ERP Architect will be the primary tool for the EA position. The enterprise architect role requires complex thinking and strategizing to ascertain which legacy systems can be updated, what software or hardware can be replaced, and which services or products will support business operations across each department.

ERP Architects work across the organization, determining the needs of a range of business units and processes.

It’s a role that requires strong communication and analytical skills to ensure that the finance department has the right tools to be successful.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the client’s financial systems while collaborating and partnering with finance and engineering resources to deliver a product that our finance team loves. Be the functional point of contact for the services that the finance department provides to the business units via an ERP application
  • Design, shape, and scope (functional and technical) solutions that automate and scale the client’s enterprise systems
  • Maintain and develop our critical enterprise financial systems, including, as required, coordinate system upgrade activities, respond to issues and incidents, and foresee the future demands of the critical business systems that drive our finance team
  • Proactively identify potential areas for opportunities by leveraging your knowledge and experiences, and from partnering with the finance owners; propose a process, data, or systematic solutions to those opportunities
  • Evaluate third-party software products for solutions, as appropriate. Manage relationships with those vendors in a positive manner
  • Keep your internal customers and management up-to-date on all roadmap initiatives

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience with finance operations, carrying out the functions of a product owner, lead, architect
  • 5+ years of NetSuite implementation experience
  • Understanding of ERP modules and related business process framework, ERP Security, and inbound and outbound integrations with ERP
  • An understanding of common industry-standard business practices related to Accounting (Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Close, Consolidation, Reporting, Tax, Treasury), Purchasing Management (Purchasing and Fulfilment), and Support (Case Management)
  • The ability to clearly understand a client’s business needs and communicate them to the project team
  • The skill to create business processes from scratch and to support existing ones
  • Experience with a fast-paced Agile development cycle
  • Ability to prioritize workloads whilst understanding their value
  • A systematic approach and analytical thinking
  • The ability to communicate with people from different cultures

Additional Competencies

  • Perform the role of coach; provide input into the staffing process; provide leadership and support for delivery
  • Hands-on experience with Kyriba, Adaptive Insights, Strongpoint, DocuPeak, Sovos, Oracle SuiteCommerce Advanced (at least 1-2 of them)
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle
